Detecting a First-Order Transition in the QCD Phase Diagram with Baryon-Baryon Correlations

چکیده
We suggest baryon-baryon correlations as an experimentally accessible signature for a first-order phase transition between a baryon-rich phase, like quarkyonic, and a baryon-suppressed hadronic phase in the QCD phase diagram.

Thermodynamic Properties of Strongly Interacting Matter at Non-zero Baryon Number Density
We present recent lattice results on QCD thermodynamics at nonvanishing baryon number density obtained from a 6th order Taylor expansion in the chemical potential. Results for bulk thermodynamic observables, in particular for fluctuations in the baryon number density, are found to be well described by a hadron resonance gas model at low temperature and an ideal quark gluon gas at high temperatu...
متن کاملStrong coupling lattice study of 1/g2 evolution in phase diagram and baryon mass
We investigate the phase diagram and the baryon mass (MB) in the color SU(Nc = 3) strong coupling lattice QCD with one species of staggered fermions at finite quark chemical potential (μ) and/or finite temperature (T ). In particular, their evolution with the finite coupling (1/g2) is studied in the next to leading order of the strong coupling expansion. We formulate the treatment of the tempor...

This is an introduction to the use of nonperturbative flow equations in strong interaction physics at nonzero temperature and baryon density. We investigate the QCD phase diagram as a function of temperature, chemical potential for baryon number and quark mass within the linear quark meson model for two flavors. Whereas the renormalization group flow leads to spontaneous chiral symmetry breakin...
متن کاملThe Chiral Phase Transition at High Baryon Density from Nonperturbative Flow Equations
We investigate the QCD chiral phase transition at high baryon number density within the linear quark meson model for two flavors. The method we employ is based on an exact renormalization group equation for the free energy. Truncated nonperturbative flow equations are derived at nonzero chemical potential and temperature. Whereas the renormalization group flow leads to spontaneous chiral symmet...
متن کاملUniversal results from an alternate random-matrix model for QCD with a baryon chemical potential.
We introduce a new non-Hermitian random-matrix model for QCD with a baryon chemical potential. This model is a direct chiral extension of a previously studied model that interpolates between the Wigner-Dyson and Ginibre ensembles. We present exact results for all eigenvalue correlations for any number of quark flavors using the orthogonal polynomial method. We also find that the parameters of t...
